Prevent & Improvement of Health

Health & Sanitation

RBKS works across tribal, remote and rural areas in Rajasthan & Madhya Pradesh that lack basic medical, health and sanitation facilities. The organization, through its initiatives and programmes, try to inculcate and promote healthy sanitary habits & provide healthcare facilities to the tribal and rural population with an aim to improve health in these areas in the long run. The organization’s health & sanitation programme aims at:

  • Spreading awareness about healthcare
  • Eliminating the lack of knowledge among tribal and rural folk
  • Improving access to basic health-care facilities in remote areas

Programme

The health and sanitation programme is focused on promoting preventive healthcare measures and organizes essential healthcare camps, pulse polio drives, health checkups for women. RBKS also sets up immunization camps, organizes training for birth attendants, ASHA members and creates awareness about family planning, RCH & BCC. The programme also focuses on providing a balanced and nutritious diet to students in schools, crèches and education facilities being run for rehabilitation of children taken out from working in factories in the form of child labour.

RBKS also organizes periodic interactive sessions and awareness meetings among the local folks in the village with an objective of reviving the traditional healthcare system in these remote villages. The organization aims at improving awareness among the local folks so that instances of fatalities in case of health hazard is minimized in these areas. RBKS also aims at skill building and creating awareness about the localized treatment of deadly diseases in remote areas. Some of the initiatives taken up by RBKS in tribal areas are as under:

Health Camps

RBKS is continuously involved in setting up regular health camps in remote areas and tribal villages with a view of promoting healthcare in tribal areas. The organization organized a total of nineteen healthcare camps in nineteen remote villages surrounding Udaipur, in Jhadol & Kotra block in the last one year. On an average 1200 patients per day are benefitted from these one day healthcare camps and are treated for diseases like viral fever, malaria, cough, stomachache, headache along with other health issues. These camps also conduct immunization of children and pregnant women and cater to various reproductive and sexual problems experienced by adults in these areas.

Immunization

Being an active organization involved in promoting healthcare among tribal and rural areas, RBKS conducts regular immunization drives with an intention of controlling the spread of deadly diseases among young children and expecting mothers. The organization offers routine immunization facilities for expecting mothers and infants and also conducts regular drives for reducing the instances of anemia among children and pregnant women.

Activities

The organization actively conducts various awareness camps and healthcare seminars in remote villages and tribal areas with an intention to promoting the notion of preventive healthcare and improving healthcare conditions in these areas. Regular sessions that aim at reviving traditional health care system in these areas are conducted with a focus on educating the locals about various traditional healthcare procedures.

Sanitation

RBKS looks forward to providing clean drinking waters to school-going children in tribal, rural and remote areas of Rajasthan & Madhya Pradesh, where clean water is scarce. Also, the organization aims at improving sanitation and hygiene levels in the school children by setting up sanitation facilities in schools. With the help & support of Wells for India, UK, RBKS provided clean drinking water facilities and sanitation facilities in 13 schools in Mandwa cluster of Kotra Block in Rajasthan. The activity involved installing hand pumps in two schools along with recharging of hand pumps in 5 schools. RBKS achieved the fete of ensuring clean drinking water to children in 13 schools with proper sanitation facilities in a period of just one year.
