Child and Women Development Initiatives

Programme Detail

Child Development Initiatives
The extent of child rights violation that occurs in Rajasthan is no hidden matter; which can also assess the situation by poor HDI reflected through high infant mortality rate (IMR), the immunization status, nutritional status, educational status, enrollment and drop out rates and child labour. RBKS is actively involved and devoted to working towards an integrated child education program, eradication of child labour, providing adequate nutrition and promoting overall child development since its inception.

Women Empowerment
In agrarian society male-female are like Beljodi of Hal (Bullock pair of a plough). In such situation both should be well versed with all the technological complexities and options for family livelihood. In the operational area of RBKS the status of women in society was pathetic. Impact of long socialization processes and lacks of control over financial sources the status of women in society continued to move down. If we compare the situation in RBKS supported villages and other adjoining villages we can find tremendous difference in the form of their involvement in development, training programs, family decision, group decisions etc. During the reporting period RBKS was involved in programs addressing to Rural Women development such as; Tailoring Training Centers, Women Education Centers, Agro Processing Unit (Vegetable gardening), Self Help Groups, Employment Program for Widows & Poor Women and Education Program for Women. This has resulted in their increasing self-dependence towards decision making and they are capable of taking different decisions. Role of women have increased at community level for social and economic aspects. Following activities are promoting them to move forward and stand parallel to man in the society.
