RBKS is working for Natural Resource Management, Watershed project since 1990. We have worked earlier and working on the issue and some supporters are with Aga Khan Foundation, Wells For India UK, CAPART, World Food Program, Canadian High Commission, Swiss Development Cooperation, Caritas India, NABARD, Binani, Department of Science and Technology New Delhi and Tribal Area Development Department and Government of Rajasthan.
Presently we are working with NABARD, Directorate of Watershed Jaipur. This is integrated program which covers various aspects of development. In this program we work for watershed, water management, existing water resource development and management, agriculture and livestock management, soil water conservation measures, capacity building of the community, new agriculture technology, reducing water velocity, water source creation, horticulture, floriculture, medicinal plants promotion, organic farming, fodder management, capacity building of community, skill training.
Indo German Watershed Development Project
Watershed Project IGWDP in MandwaBhera Bhai village of Dungarpur district was started in 2008-09 with support of NABARD Jaipur. The overall goal of this project is to facilitate sustainable livelihoods for resource poor community in Aravali Region.

Specific objectives are:
  • To Promote Integrated Land and Water Resources Development and Management to sustain land based production system
  • Preventing valuable soil from erosion
    Capacitating community for better-input management in Agriculture-Animal husbandry
  • Organising Community and enhancing community skill on Sustained Livelihood Technologies through self help concept.
NABARD – KFW CLIMATE PROOFING PROGRAM at Mandwa Bhera Bhai

In order to ensure sustainability of the assets and the institutions created under NABARD assisted IGWDP Watershed program, a special initiative in the name of Climate Proofing has been introduced. Under this initiative, various watershed plus activities like training and capacity building of watershed committees, keeping of created assets and promoting alternate livelihood activities considering local climatic conditions by the members are being done. This is a one year program sanctioned by NABARD.

Integrated Watershed Development Program (IWMP) Jodhpur 58/ 11-12 and Jalore 17/11-12
Integrated watershed development project is initiated at Jodhpur and Jalore district the Watershed area covers 17795 ha. to benefit 38000 Villagers . The major work done is to mobilize community an aware them for collection of rain water in tanka. The tanka construction is also part of the project. Mainly the constructed tanka is used for drinking water and tanka constructed under works are using for irrigation purpose. The artificial catchment prepared for collection of rainwater. Field bund work is done as soil water conservation measures. The beneficiaries of the project villages also helped for agriculture production improvement and livestock productivity enhancement. The community is motivated for income generating activity. For this, Self Help Group are formed and loan distributed at lower interest rate which is decided by Village Watershed Committee. EPA ( Entry Point Activity) woks are completed in both the project and main phase works are ongoing.

Achievement of the project –

1. Preparatory Phase (Entry Point Activity) – 80 Tanka water harvesting, Kabristan Development, Solar street light 50 etc.
2. Institution and Capacity Building- 625 Training and camp organized.
4. Watershed Development Works (NRM)- 480 Tanka (water harvesting) completed
5. Production Measure- Crop Demonstration 1000, Horticulture 50 etc.
6. Livelihood Activity- 60 SHG, Revolving Fund to SHGs etc.

SALT Project
LEISA
SALT Project

The use of SALT is instrumental in enhancing the agricultural productivity in the area and included activities like fencing, SWC measures, advance hedgerow works, plantations and visits to successful SALT projects in the country. Owing to the efforts made by RBKS, tribal community has been accustomed to the use of Hedgerow and liquid manuring tank for cultivation.

Currently, RBKS boasts of being the nodal agency working to promote SALT across tribal regions in the districts of Ratlam and Jhabua in Madhya Pradesh. The organization is appointed as a nodal agency by the Canadian High Commission under a special project for promoting setting up of village action group for the management of natural resources using sloping land agricultural techniques in tribal regions of Madhya Pradesh. The SALT promotion project is facilitated by Agro-forestry Society.

LEISA

The project aims at setting up ten dedicated village action groups for popularizing low external input sustainable agricultural (LEISA) techniques and improving the knowledge base of these action groups to promote SALT & LIESA techniques among the tribal population in the region. RBKS is committed to making the project successful by working closely and actively with 10 partner NGOs working in the region with an aim to improve the livelihood of poor tribal folk in the region and bring them to the main stream.
